Into the wind

Into the Wind is a Franco-Irish collaboration between the company D’un instant à l’autre and the Dublin-based record label Diatribe Records. The proposed programmation includes residencies,workshops, and performances in both France and Ireland.

This project brings together leading musicians from the contemporary scenes in Ireland and France,deepening existing ties between Diatribe Records and D’un instant à l’autre, with the aim of buildinga three-year program for the years 2026–2028. For the six artists of Into the Wind, the dimension ofactive research is intrinsically linked to their practice of sound in space.

The concept is to create a program of new music that can be integrated into innovative forms ofengagement with the audience, by exploring the relationships between the expected and theunexpected, between improvisation and composition, between structure and flexibility inperformance, while incorporating the parameters of movement and spatial positioning, in order torenew modes of listening and perception for both musicians and listeners.

This process echoes the dynamics of major winds that move immense masses of air and water acrossthe globe, connecting people and places, shaping our shared atmosphere, and reflecting the state ofthe world.
