In short

Based in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté since 2005, D’un instant à l’autre is a company of composers and performing artists that present collective works exploring the relationship between musical compositions and improvisation (concerts, performance, sound exhibitions, walking-soundscapes). It is co-directed by Christine Bertocchi, Guillaume Orti and Didier Petit.

The various uses of the voice, the body, and their relation to meaning and space, through words and movement, weave the common thread of its research and creations.

A certified continuing education organization (Qualiopi), D’un instant à l’autre develops innovative pedagogies aimed at professionals in music and the performing arts, as well as the general public (workshops, educational activities).

Through its choice of being located in the Burgundy countryside, the company aims to sustainably develop its involvement in the local and regional territory (activities for all audiences, residencies), while maintaining and expanding its work at the national and international levels (artistic partnerships, residencies, repertoire dissemination).

The Company receives support from the DRAC Bourgogne–Franche-Comté, the Bourgogne–Franche-Comté Region, the Departmental Council of Côte-d'Or, the City of Dijon, the City of Montbard, the National Music Centre, SACEM, Copie Privée, SPEDIDAM, ADAMI, and the Maison de la Musique Contemporaine*.

The Bourgogne–Franche-Comté Region supports the company’s operations with funding of €9,000. This assistance helps to boost the dissemination of its projects at both national and international levels, while offering a distinctive and high-quality artistic program locally.

The company D'un instant à l'autre is a member of Futurs Composés, the national network for musical creation; Grands Formats, the federation of large jazz and improvised music ensembles; and La Coursive, a creative business hub in Dijon.

*The Maison de la Musique Contemporaine (MMC) is dedicated to promoting and showcasing contemporary music, supporting professionals, and developing outreach and audience engagement initiatives. By fostering a dynamic network, the MMC works alongside all stakeholders in musical creation to support, promote, and enhance its visibility.

Work studio in Quincerot

The company's studio is a space dedicated to residencies for artists who work closely with the company and who wish to come and create, deepen or refine a musical repertoire or a performance piece. On a regular basis, D’un instant à l’autre organizes feedback sessions, end of workshops presentations, public rehearsals or musical and theatrical performances at the studio, in the community hall «la Quintilienne», and also on historical local sites. These key-moments are for the company, a way to share singular and demanding projects with the local audience. It also gives an opportunity to create a cultural dynamic within this rural environment.
